The Red Dot Award, the leading awards for industrial design, recognizes innovation and excellence in the field. The award ceremony will be held on July 7, 2026 in Essen, Germany, which is celebrating its 72nd anniversary. Over the past 12 years, Ferrari has won 35 Red Dot awards: no other car manufacturer has achieved comparable results since the awards were founded in 1955. Since 2015, the jury has awarded Ferrari no fewer than 13 Red Dot awards: Best of the Best for the following cars: FXX-K, 488 GTB, Ferrari J50, Ferrari Day Porto1 SP3SF, Ferrari Monza, Ferrari Monza Purosangue, Vision GT, Ferrari Roma Spider, Ferrari 12Cilindri and 12Cilindri Spider, F80, Ferrari SC40.

The Ferrari SC40 is a new one-off from the Ferrari Special Projects programme. It was created as a one-off bespoke car for a single client and developed by the Ferrari design studio under the direction of Flavio Manzoni. Conceived as a pure and uncompromising berlinetta, it is a mid-rear-engined V6 that derives its architecture, chassis and powertrain from the 296 GTB, while adopting a completely new design that pays homage to the legendary F40 without being a literal reinterpretation of it. Its theme draws inspiration from industrial design, combining precise geometries with muscular, angular volumes and is defined by proportions such as a long, low front, short rear overhang and a high, solid rear wing with a bespoke Bianco SC40 finish. Inside, extensive use of a newly interpreted carbon-kevlar material, along with technical fabrics and Alcantara®, reinforces the connection to the F40 ethos, while the hybrid powertrain delivers a combined output of 830 hp and enables 0-100 km/h acceleration in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 100 km/h.
